2009
The First Kitchen Opens
Founder Maria Santos opens a small, 20-seat cafe at 610 S Colorado Blvd. The menu features five core dishes inspired by her family's culinary heritage, quickly winning hearts in the neighborhood.
2012
First Culinary Award
Cafe Rio receives the "Best New Restaurant" award from the Glendale Culinary Society. The recognition brings a surge of new guests and inspires the team to expand the menu to 40 items.
2015
Catering & Events Launch
With growing demand from local businesses and families, Cafe Rio introduces a dedicated catering division. Our team begins serving corporate events, weddings, and private celebrations across Colorado.
2018
Farm-to-Table Partnership
